I recently bought my first helmet from Rudy Project — The Wing — and after four rides I’m very impressed. The helmet feels incredibly stable, especially in windy conditions, which makes rides more enjoyable and confidence-inspiring. I also really like the adjustable vent that lets you choose between maximum aerodynamics or added airflow depending on the ride. I haven’t raced in it yet, but it already feels fast and I’m excited to use it on race day.

As a USPSA shooter, you look for eye protection that checks a few basic boxes: crisp optical clarity, a comfortable fit under ear pro, and enough style so you don’t look like you’re about to do high school chemistry. You hope they’ll protect you from the occasional flying piece of spall or a rogue piece of hot brass.

You don’t usually buy them expecting them to act as a localized missile defense system against a Holosun 507 Comp that suddenly decides to divorce its slide mid-string.

The "Incident" : During a recent match, my optic sheared completely off the slide. Thanks to the laws of physics and my own luck, the optic didn't fly forward—it launched itself directly backward, at a high rate of speed, straight into the bridge of my nose. (Attached footage is slowed 4x Insta360 footage to prove this wasn't just a dramatic excuse for a nose job).

The Damage Report
• The Optic: Totally detatched.
• My Face: A minor battle scar on the bridge of my nose from the impact force.
• The Rudy Project Sirius Frames: Absolutely zero damage. Let’s be incredibly clear here: without these glasses on, I wouldn't just be looking for a new optic; I’d be shopping for a pirate patch and learning how to shoot occlusion eye-dominant. The sheer force of the impact pushed the frame hard enough to break the skin on my nose, but the glasses themselves took the brunt of a flying chunk of metal and glass like an absolute champ.

The best part? The frames and lenses didn't crack, bend, or break. I wiped them off, checked the integrity, and I am still using them today.

Pros:
• Legitimate Ballistic Integrity: They took a catastrophic hardware failure straight to the face and kept my eyes perfectly safe.
• Indestructible Build Quality: Surviving a direct hit from a reciprocating slide-mounted optic without a scratch is legendary.
• Rx Compatibility: Excellent clarity right up until—and after—the moment it became a shield.

Cons:
• Does not magically prevent your optic screws from shearing (But not sure you can do anything about that).

The Verdict : If you are on the fence about spending the money on quality, high-impact rated shooting glasses because "nothing ever happens," let my face be your cautionary tale. The Rudy Project Sirius frames didn't just perform; they saved my eyesight and lived to tell the tale.

10/10. Worth every single penny.

I didn’t like how it looked and was thinking about returning it. I ordered some of the other helmets at a same level and realized that this one is way more comfortable and offers more space around your head and face if for whatever reason you feel like you need to touch your face (which happens to me a couple of times on long rides) overall i’m very happy with it.

Keeps my sunglasses from getting scratches.

After 12 years of everyday use the plastic on the inserts started to degrade. Buying another insert. Well worth the price. Truth be known... I should have lost or broke them 50 times by now. So, throw in lucky sun glasses as well.

Just had eye surgery, so my vision changed, and I needed new lenses for my Rydon glasses. These new lenses (Polarized) are the best yet for where I ride in and out of bright sun and deep shadows.

Solid first ride and then gravel race in the Spinshield Pro. Loved having one lense for all conditions. Adapted well in low light conditions in the woods and then in bright sunlight. Light, well ventilated, I forgot I was even wearing them.

I ordered these glasses so that I could read my bike computer easier on rides as I have a smaller Garmin (530) computer. I received the glasses in less that 2 weeks and the Rudy quality is apparent. I also got the photochromatic lenses which are great. Very happy.

Recently purchased to replace an old helmet..I first found Rudy Project when I had stumbled on a pair of sunglasses at the mall marked as clearance (previous Oakley customer) been very happy with the sunglasses, so decided to check out helmets, then purchased. Just rode 2 days 160 miles with the new helmet and it was great. Great fit, great airflow, and a great look. Highly recommend (from someone who doesn't normally do product reviews).

Love the new helmet. Fits great and I love the bug net! Very comfortable. Lightweight but feels like it’s strong enough to give some good protection. I like how the boss can be adjusted and Allen keyed in place.

I had an issue with the way in which I purchased an item and customer service was there to help the whole time. They were very responsive and took time to understand what my problem was an how to rectify it. On top of that I've been a Rudy Project user for years, from sunglasses to helmet, I've always gotten good quality, and awesome aesthetics. The person customer service combined with the great product will keep me a customer for like. Thank you.

Love these sunglasses! I also bought the transparent lenses to swap out when I just want eye protection on a ride. Would definitely purchases them again.
