The STARDASH is a multi-purpose functional eyewear piece built to protect against the elements with style. It is engineered to pass the specific category 4 illumination standards, critical for high altitude adventures, thanks to the removable side shields which also offer additional protection against wind, dust, and snow.
The peripheral shields are removable rubber inserts which enhance protection from side light, especially in high altitude mountain environments, as well as dust and debris often encountered while riding bikes on unpaved terrain and gravel roads.
The non-slip adjustable nosepad offers an exceptional fit for any shape of face. This system allows the wearer to adjust the glasses’ height and distance from the face. Rubber coated, non-slip adjustable ear pieces provide an extra degree of personalization ensuring a perfect fit. Simply apply a gentle pressure to adjust these terminals in any direction.
A versatile prescription option that also works with Shield styles and allows for unlimited customization options. Perfect for contact lens wearers.
ImpactX® lenses are photochromic. This means they get dark from low to high light transmission within few seconds and reaching a custom color from an initial clear state. They enhance contrast, improve visual acuity and depth perception. ImpactX® lenses are 16% lighter than CR-39 and 10% lighter than polycarbonate; they have lower internal stress and chromatic dispersion than polycarbonate, resulting in sharper images, higher definition, reduces “rainbowing”, and more visual comfort.
Also, ImpactX® lenses are guaranteed unbreakable for life. Their molecular semi-rigid properties ensure unique light management and unparalleled eye protection from sun rays and atmospheric elements. ImpactX® is a family of patented polyurethane optical polymers, transparent and unbreakable, originally developed for military and aerospace requirements to provide bulletproof, transparent, and lightweight material capable of providing superior protection, reliability and longer lasting performance than polycarbonate.
I love the frames and lenses. The photochromic adjusts really well to dynamic light conditions while running or XC-skiing. Only wish they had the option to buy polarized lenses (seems like Rudy moved away from polarized for most of their sports frames, which is a shame)
I recently had the chance to try out a friend's Wing during an 80km group ride (I know, this isn't a group ride helmet) after failing to pack my helmet. I was impressed by the comfort of the helmet, and asked to borrow it for a week to complete some solo rides. Already owning a Kask Mistral I wasn't necessarily in need of a new TT helmet, but to be honest I've never been a fan of the Mistral shape - so I was drawn in by the good looks of the Wing (subjective good looks of course). 50km relatively flat ride, and without much effort I cut 1m37s off my PB on that route. Was it all helmet, not likely... but that is good enough for me to pull the trigger during the current sale. Can't wait to have one of my own soon!
I love my Boost 01 helmet, and these pads keep it going! Great quality too, just as I'd expect of Rudy Project.
