I initially bought these because they were one of the few quality glasses I could find that had interchangeable lenses and a prescription insert. They accomplished exactly what I was hoping for, and the quality of the lenses were fantastic. I used them for about 3 years before I bought the Traylx XLs, and they still look great despite the amount of abuse I put them through.
Went with the Wide Lens and like it better than the original!

I used it the first time at 66 miles Bike-a-thon in Philly. They were comfortable, covered lots of my face and super stylish.
I recently had a horrific accident where I went entirely over the handlebars, landing directly on my head and the left side of my body.
The impact was severe enough that I broke my collarbone in two places and fractured a couple of ribs. However, despite my head bouncing off the pavement twice, I walked away with absolutely zero head or neck injuries. No concussion, no trauma, nothing. The helmet took the entire force of the blow so my brain didn't have to. Looking at the damage to the helmet, it’s clear that it did exactly what it was engineered to do.
I do a lot of EMTB in Mammoth Lakes and there are loads of tall trees. Light comes and goes and with the Defender's the lenses changes so my visibility is always good. Something I think is important when riding.
