This is the second Protera+ that I've bought for my dad as a gift, and he says that they are his absolutely his favorite helmets—this means something, since he has been riding and racing since the 1980s. He says that the fit is perfect, they look cool, and they are super reliable.
These helmets are among the most comfortable I've tried in recent years. Stays put with a fantastic retention system, holds your Rudy Project sunglasses firmly in place, and works well with goggles. Also has a great flat spot up top for mounting cameras, lights, and etc. For me the Protera+ blurs the line between Enduro coverage and XC weight, making it great for short park laps or all day epics!
I was pleasantly surprised with the fit of this helmet after reading an article in which the author stated it fit his round shaped head well. I have a long and narrow head but the fit was still great due to the retention system and it didn't give me the "male appendage" look that so many other helmets do. It feels light, comfortable, and stays in place perfectly. Although it's hard to tell since the Texas heat has subsided a bit, it seems to vent really well and I don't find sweat pouring from underneath as with some other helmets. For reference, my head circumference is 59 cm and the large fit well.
