Developed and engineered in the wind tunnel with the collaboration of Swiss Side world-class aerodynamic experts, our Nytron cycling helmet blends ultimate safety, amazing aerodynamic performance with compact and light design. Thanks to the scientific combination of massive exhaust vents and internal directional power flow channels, the Nytron cycling helmet's awesome ventilation keeps the riders head cool lowering body temperature thus enhancing overall performance. Nytron cycling helmet exceeds the Rudy Project WG11 experimental protocol test. The WG11 rotational impact test is a protocol adopted by Rudy Project, in cooperation with accredited and notified bodies, to test and measure the performance of the helmets against rotational impacts.

    Triple In-Mold Construction

    In-Mold technology allows us to cast the external polycarbonate outer shell directly during the injection stage of the expandable polystyrene (EPS) impact-absorbing foam. The result is a much more rigid structure which is knock-resistant and extremely light, allowing for better ventilation system. The combined action of the EPS structure, the polycarbonate cap and exo-skeleton creates resistance to the mechanical action exercised by an impact and dissipates the energy in order to prevent it from being transferred to the head of the person wearing the helmet.

    WG 11 - THE NEXT LEVEL OF SAFETY CERTIFICATION

    At Rudy Project, we are committed to develop products aimed at the highest level of safety, exceeding requirements set by international standards, such as the CE or CPSC norms. Today our goal is to go even further by overpassing a new experimental testing protocol based on real accident datas and scientific sources. The Rudy Project WG11 rotational impact test is a protocol adopted by Rudy Project, in cooperation with accredited and notified bodies, to test and measure the performance of the helmets against rotational impacts. The Rudy Project WG11 “pass-fail” criterion is based on the BRIC (Brain Injury Criterion) value, an algorithm that defines the level of brain injury. This value must be less than 0,68. Several studies in fact showed that concussive values of BRIC for humans varied from 0.60, when scaled directly from animal data, to 0.68 when obtained directly from college football players.

    AERODYNAMICS

    Nytron blends superior aerodynamic performance with an amazingly compact and light design.  It was developed and engineered in collaboration with aerodynamic experts Swiss Side who performed extensive Computational Fluid Dynamics and wind tunnel testing. The Nytron’s structure features four In-Mold EPS liners which ensure maximum protection and shock absorption, while also keeping the helmet extremely lightweight and ventilated.
