The wraparound geometry along with non-slip ear and nose pieces of the Spinshield Air deliver a natural compression fit without undue pressure for excellent comfort and stability. Additionally, Spinshield Air is offered in both standard and Asian fit frames.
For those who normally wear corrective lenses, Spinshield Air is prescription ready via a proprietary Rx optical insert that can easily be clipped to the nosebridge behind the sun lens.
Spinshield Air always delivers a comfortable fit. The ergo-grip integrated rubber tips and nose pads, ensure a snug stable fit while the Pro-Fit geometry of the temples is designed to provide natural comfortable ergonomic fit without annoying pressures on the ear area.
I love the frames and lenses. The photochromic adjusts really well to dynamic light conditions while running or XC-skiing. Only wish they had the option to buy polarized lenses (seems like Rudy moved away from polarized for most of their sports frames, which is a shame)
I recently had the chance to try out a friend's Wing during an 80km group ride (I know, this isn't a group ride helmet) after failing to pack my helmet. I was impressed by the comfort of the helmet, and asked to borrow it for a week to complete some solo rides. Already owning a Kask Mistral I wasn't necessarily in need of a new TT helmet, but to be honest I've never been a fan of the Mistral shape - so I was drawn in by the good looks of the Wing (subjective good looks of course). 50km relatively flat ride, and without much effort I cut 1m37s off my PB on that route. Was it all helmet, not likely... but that is good enough for me to pull the trigger during the current sale. Can't wait to have one of my own soon!
I love my Boost 01 helmet, and these pads keep it going! Great quality too, just as I'd expect of Rudy Project.
