I chose the Spinair57 for the dual threat of high performance in a more casual style package. The no-slip nose piece & temples are a fantastic element for a more casual style. And they work. The Spinair 57s remain secure on the face thanks to those nose & temple pieces. Added bonus, they come with interchangeable nose pieces for a truly custom fit. Swapping out for the (included) larger nose bridge made them fit even better & added to secure feeling on the face.
I've gotta get pretty picky to find any short-comings, so here they are: These are pretty big. For a large face, they look great. They might overwhelm a smaller face/head, unless you are seeking an over-sized look. But read below -- women have given them high marks for style, including my style-savvy sister (style not necessarily my wheelhouse). The relatively flat lens - hallmark of the more casual style - leaves the bottom corners a little farther from my face than I might like for glare reduction on snow or the salt flats. That said, the Spinair offer as good or better protection than most any casual glass - enhanced by the secure fit.
Bottom line: Highly recommend for a casual look with a secure fit wrapped up in the fantastic Rudy Project lens clarity & build quality.
Gave this to my wife as a gift and she loves it.
I’m very particular on my glasses as I wear sunglasses every day. I was a Oakley guy while I was in the Army for 10 years. I didn’t know what comfort was until I threw these bad boys on my face.
I purchased the pacific blue matte frame with black photochromic Impact 2 lenses. The frame and lenses are fine. Where I'm not sold is the side coverage, and I am on the fence about keeping them. I'm only 5', with a 21.5" circumference head. My nose bridge does stick out pretty far, so most glasses have to sit far forward of my eye sockets. The angle of the wrap on the frame is good, but the lenses just don't seem to go far enough back on the sides. The photo shows how much of my eye socket is still exposed. I live in an area with a lot of wind, and having 40mph sustained winds with debris coming at me from the side on a run isn't fun. They are better than standard glasses for protection, but aren't enough to make me fall in love with them. Add the cost of the prescription inserts I'll need to buy and well... it's hard to call this a 5-star product, at least for someone with my head shape. Maybe there's another style that will fit better, but it's hard to tell just how far back the lenses go.
Hi Amy! Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review and providing such thorough feedback. We truly appreciate it. We understand your concern regarding the side coverage and we recommend adjusting the nose piece to allow the frame to sit closer to your face, which should provide more coverage on the sides. If you've already tried this and it's still not working, we suggest trying our new Astral Sphere shield, which offers deeper side coverage and allows for prescription inserts directly in the lenses. We're here to work with you and find the best solution. Thank you for considering Rydon and we hope to make your experience a 5-star one.
Just replaced my Sterling helmet with this one. Can’t be happier. I’ve had 3 Sterling helmets over the years and it was time to upgrade. Looks great and light weight. Feels faster. The only thing is that I wish it had the mesh net lining to keep the bugs, bees and pebbles out. The fit is good.
