Purchased the Orange optic shield when it came back in stock. Used it for my recent Ironman 70.3 and it was perfect! Low light conditions and windy! No issues with it coming off stayed in place perfectly. High Recommended.
I bought the gold multilaser replacement shield for the wing which I sent as a gift but I am not happy with it. The replacement lense did not stick to the helmet at the left side. I just knew about the defect recently when I sent it to my friend in my country whom I gave a wing helmet previously. I am not sure if they are going to replace it if I will have it sent back to me also I bought it few months ago. Rudy Project should test the shield before shipping it to the customer to make sure that the magnet is not defective. I am embarrassed giving it as a gift.
Hi Ranulfo, so sorry you received a defective shield that is definitely our mistake. We stand by our products and strive to make sure all of our supporters are 100% satisfied with their items. Just wanted to follow up with you and let you know a replacement is on it's way to you along with a couple extra goodies and I have personally inspected it to make sure it is good to go. Hope your friend loves their new Wing helmet and thanks for your support!
Awesome helmet - I'm now on my 2nd as I smashed the first one by going head first into tarmac after being flipped upside down by a GMC Yukon driver! But the helmet is the best compromise of aero & cooling comfort I've found and feels fast at all speeds other than sudden zeroes at ground level!
First let me state that these fit me (personally) better than any other cycling frames I have ever owned. (endless Oakley's over my 60-year life as a cyclist) The sweat while riding channel's across the top of the frame and down the sides; a common problem I had with the Oakley 'Jacket' line-up over the years. Just as important is the air-channeling of the frames which has kept the lens from ever fogging, in any temperature, Rudy's Photochromatic 2 lens are a distinct leap above anything else I've ever used, including Oakley Prizm. The immediate transition between light and dark lens shading has literally been the saving factor from serious crashes on several occasions. My only complaint is the recent change of frame material to Reslin. It looks a bit cheap in the gloss colors, but the overall functionality overcomes this. I would recommend these all day and all night!
Just had an accident this morning. Hit a rock and went over handlebars. I clearly remember hitting my head on the pavement but never even lost consciousness. Helmet did an amazing job. Wish I had something equally as good for my shoulder. 🤣
