Featuring a Lens Bumper system, the Fotonyk provides enhanced protection to the face during falls or impacts, all while offering a customizable look. The bumpers, which are available in an array of colors, can even be removed to create a half-rim lens with an unobstructed view. In addition to this new technology, air channels are strategically placed at the top of the lens so users can easily manage internal airflow and mitigate fog. The fully adjustable nosepiece and variety of interchangeable lenses, including the unbreakable and photochromic ImpactX lens, make the Fotonyk an individualized gear piece specific to the wearer's unique style and face shape. The Fotonyk is also available with high-tech prescription solutions such as the brand new Optical Dock, capable of high strength corrections in a sturdy removable platform.

Rudy Project has managed to creat a sublime work of art that is secure, safe and oh so comfortable. I find myself thinking I only have a beanie on. Super solid and innovative, love the ability to maintain the straps or replace. As for MIPS, appears this is addressed- just not listed as it’s implemented slightly modified. Best helmet ever - I’m 63, riding XC/AM for over 30 years.
Rudy Project's offering of the Egos in three sizes (small, medium, large instead of small/medium or large) was a big draw. Historically, I've worn the small/medium sized helmets from Rudy Project and experienced just the slightest bits of wiggle in all but the Nytron; the updated retention system was a brilliant addition. Because the Spectrum in a medium I had been sporting the past couple of years was a spot-on fit, I decided on an Egos in white, rather than a second Nytron that would be used exclusively for road riding. While the Egos is not the most svelte helmet Rudy Project has produced, it is certainly a technical marvel. Its numerous vents make for the Goldilocks of comfort & air circulation: It's just right no matter how hot or how cool out it is. (FWIW, the Nytron also stays remarkably cool, even in South Texas summers, even in the black color scheme.) The Egos's new magnetic buckle system supplants the tried, true, but tired traditional buckle system used on most every other helmet system out there; it connects & disconnects quickly, conveniently, and securely. Apart from its more bulbous shape (the half-sphere at helmet's top sits a bit higher/larger than the Spectrum, Nytron, and other current helmets on the market but falls short of Space Balls proportions), the only "down side" I've experienced with the Egos is stashing glasses in the vents. It's not as intuitively easy to slide your shades but can be done with a bit of practice; Tralyx, Keyblade, and Rydons all work well enough in my experience these past few weeks.
TLDR, the Egos is a well-ventilated and comfortable helmet for all your road bike adventures making it figuratively & literally Rudy Project's most technically cool helmet offering to-date.
Love these glasses. Unfortunately lost a pair about 4 months ago, told myself I wasn't going to buy another pair and couldn't help myself. The photochromic lenses are amazing. I also have a replacement lens that is strictly for sunny days. Pretty easy to pop the lenses in and out. Highly recommend these for running & cycling.
