ImpactX® lenses are photochromic. This means they get dark from low to high light transmission within few seconds and reaching a custom color from an initial clear state. They enhance contrast, improve visual acuity and depth perception. ImpactX® lenses are 16% lighter than CR-39 and 10% lighter than polycarbonate; they have lower internal stress and chromatic dispersion than polycarbonate, resulting in sharper images, higher definition, reduces “rainbowing”, and more visual comfort.
I opted for the slim black gloss with ImpactX Photochromic 2 Black lenses to use for trail and road running. I've tried a few other brands with transition lenses, but found them to adjust very little unlike these which quickly go from clear to dark based on the lighting conditions. The slim is a perfect fit and still provides full coverage. I've also found them to be very fog resistant even though they have less vents than the Propulse. These weren't inexpensive, but you get what you pay for and these are top notch! Highly recommend!
I have been trying out multiple glasses from Rudy and so far my favorite are the traylx.
They fit perfect, no fogging up and very durable. I have multiple different lenses which all work great and stored in a handy case provided by Rudy. I highly recommend the Rudy lineup.
Truly superior performance vs any other sunglasses ive worn regardless of price. I bought a photochromic pair and will put them on pre sunrise and just never take them off through miles and miles of alpenglow, shade, sun, clouds, storms, you name it. The lenses transition transparently to the wearer and the clarity is phenomenal and they are extremely comfortable.
Only a few grams heavier than my other pairs and the weight is so well distributed that i dont even feel them. Longest ive worn them is for a 10+ hour day in the mountains and i basically forget that i am wearing them at all.
They will fog up slightly in very humid and wet conditions. I think its unavoidable though and these will clear up totally with even the slightest of cross breezes or direct sun. I hesitated a great deal in spending more money on these sunglasses than probably the last 6 or 7 pairs of sunglasses ive bought combined but in the end im glad i bought the Cutlines. I hope i never lose them but if i do i would rebuy.
Not to mention, very functional with unobstructed field of vision.
My prescription is not that bad but still, I wish this is Rx ready.
Bought another pair as I did not notice my glasses (which was on back of helmet) fell off midway a long ride.
So I actually ran my glasses over with a 45000 Lb excavator and plowed up the dirt they fell in a few times. They fell off the top of my hat and I didn’t notice. So the lenses had a few scratches, the frames were bent a little , after I straighten everything they actually can still be used!! New set of lenses and a earpiece kit and they would work!! I ordered 2 new pairs!! That’s quality!! And customer service gave me a nice discount code for my new optical insert when I sent them the pics and the story. Im forever customer now.
