I have an older model Rudy Airstorm that I have used for both road & mountain biking. I’m wondering how this helmet compares to the Airstorm.
I love the bug net option (my current helmet has it) as I am allergic to bees and they can’t get through if they end up flying into helmet bent. This has saved me multiple times, especially on rougher trails with bushwhacking sections and traveling over woody debris. Thinking about ordering one of these. Any feedback appreciated!
Was looking for a new helmet and just happened across The Rudy Project. Seemed like a sharp design at a decent price (plus it was in stock ha), so went ahead and purchased. Glad I did. Thanks Rudy Project for an awesome helmet!
My riding buddy stumbled upon the Rudy Project helmet. When he got it in, I took a look at it and liked it so much, I ordered it in white.
The Protera helmet has so many adjustments, it easily became the most comfortable helmet I have ever owned. The back opens and closed with a nice, durable ratchet system. It also pulls down and pushes up to fit your head, or to pull a ponytail through. It provides a snug fit that does not bobble. It also feels fairly balanced so it doe not slide down in front. I was concerned about a small/medium size and thinking it could be too big but it fits well. I have had a couple helmets that don't tighten enough and even if they do, they manage to slide down. The visor adjusts and stays put and disappears so you don't think about it. I have ridden in the winter only solar, but I got the white to deflect summer heat, and the vents look adequate. I look forward to summer riding with this Rudy helmet. My husband liked mine so much, I just ordered the red for him. Thank you Rudy for making a unique and functional product.
