I owned a 5 year old pair and they began to crack around the insert for the prescription lenses. called them and said they would replace the frame even out of the two year warranty! That makes up for a rather disjointed customer service system that initially had me confused. One other thing that is always important is maintaining replacement parts. I could really use more tints/reflective choices such as blue for water use. I would encourage keeping the flip up style which is unique and hard to find. Will be buying another pair as a back up! Still looking for the right hard case. the current snap open design is awkward. I dont use a transition lense while riding so I carry my regular glasses for road stops.
I'm a bicyclist. I bought a pair about 7 years ago. Easy and smooth flip up and easy, smooth flip down. Really liked them. My prescription changed. Despite prescription piece being sold as modular and replaceable, a new prescription can not be put into the older frames. The rubberized ear pieces on the ld frame disintegrated over time, but I was still overall happy enough to buy a new sunglass flip up frame set and new prescription lenses.
When they arrived and I tried to use them I learned 2 things that led me to return them:
1. the new flip up and down is ratcheted and needs to be clicked into place when put back down - as Tony's review also notes. Needs a lot of pressure, hard to do, hurts bridge of nose and I almost fell due to trying one handed to lock down. 2. they changed the frame so blocks center vision a bit and sun coverage on sides is reduced. I had to return the new pair. Felt bad for the store which was super customer friendly. Why did Rudy change something that worked perfectly well? Ended up buying standard Oakley's
I try to ask the question could I just buy the frame, which I have one but the customer service agent Agnes, tell me to wait for the big sale, when I ask what will be the price difference because I don't want to miss the frame, got no reply. I order anyway since there is no size selection.
The Rydon Golf lens makes a difference on that I’m able to see better the golf ball flight off the driver and approximately landing area. The same goes when reading the line when putting on the green. Worth the money!!!!
Being an Oakley wearer for over 15 years, The frame can be adjusted and fits comfortably on my face. With the different colored lenses, it enables me to change it according to my activities planned for the day- racquet sports or long range shooting. Love the clarity and quality of the lenses. I’m now a believer of this brand!
Finally got to try them on and was impress with the fit and quality of the lenses of the Rydon Performance Kit. Planning to purchase the "Golf Impact X Photochromic 2 Laser Purple" to use in playing various racquet sports (tennis, pickleball and padel) as was suggested. It was very easy to change lenses from the kit. Guess no more Oakley for me.
