Lauren Stephens and Jelly Belly p/b Maxxis Stay Fast and Protected in Rudy Project’s Most Popular Aero/TT Lid

The Wing57 aero/TT helmet from Rudy Project has been on a number of national podiums lately. The Jelly Belly p/b Maxxis Cycling Team dominated the Team Time Trial at the USA National Championships in Louisville, Kentucky on Thursday, taking first over a field stacked heavily with national champions and well performing teams. Working together demonstrated superior team work and a clear desire to win, riders, Sean Bennett, Keegan Swirbul, Ben Wolfe, Michael Sheehan, Joshua Berry, and Jacob Rathe stayed cool and protected in their aero Wing57 lids, complete with the newly introduced visor design from Rudy Project.

“It’s amazing and gratifying to see the team perform so well,” said Danny Van Haute, team manager. “We’ve worked hard, the team is pacing themselves really well, and making excellent tactical decisions. And having the best equipment in the world from our sponsors doesn’t hurt.”

The team rode in the full aero Wing57 helmet, taking advantage of the sleek, aerodynamic design for a heads-down, pedal-pounding race where they outstripped some of the best teams on the continent. The win brought Team Jelly Belly p/b Maxxis into 5th place overall in the USA Cycling team standings.

The Wing57 helmet has been making a strong showing at National Championships; the aero helmet was ridden to a strong silver medal by Lauren Stephens of Team TIBCO-Silicon Valley Bank last week in the US National Championships individual time trial. Lauren stood out in a distinctive yellow fluo Wing57 helmet, and was thrilled to land on the podium after coming in 5th and 4th in previous years. She’s now the third top ranked rider in the nation, with Team TIBCO-Silicon Valley Bank ranked second overall.

Rudy Project North America also recently introduced a brand new flip-up visor design for the Wing57 in response to athlete feedback – the new flip-up visor is designed to be more stable and faster through T1, and is compatible with almost every Wing57 ever sold. All Wing57 helmets ordered now come standard with the new flip-up visor.  As a courtesy all current owners of Wing57 helmets can obtain a new flip-up visor for just the cost of shipping and handling at
