“We’re excited to be working with these powerhouse teams again in 2014, and welcome the addition of the 5-hour Energy presented by Kenda Racing Team to our family,” said Paul Craig, President of Rudy Project North America. “I’m proud to stand with a family owned brand that places so much emphasis on the success of these athletes. Every victory of theirs is a shared joy for all of us here at Rudy Project, as we know that our tireless efforts to design the best equipment have paid off. That’s what really sets Rudy Project apart, our commitment to building better technology by listening to the needs and feedback from athletes like those in these pro teams.”
By working closely with pro cyclists, Rudy Project has created a number of innovative design elements which have been incorporated into their products. These include fully adjustable nose pieces and temple arms on their sunglasses for a custom, precise fit. Paramount to cyclist’s performance is their vision, and Rudy Project has made strides to keep visual acuity high and eliminate distractions such as fogging. Even with intense activity and over long distances, the use of novel concepts such as the Venturi effect in fluid dynamics and adjustable lenses keep airflow at a perfect level and eliminate moisture buildup. Two new eyewear models, the Agon and the Proflow, make use of these features and are sure to be seen on the faces of several Pro cycling teams in 2014.
Similarly, Rudy Project has worked in depth with athletes the world over to determine several optimal helmet designs. Two of these have quickly become a favorite among pro cyclists and armatures alike – the Windmax and the Sterling. Incredibly lightweight at just 220 grams and well ventilated to keep riders cool, the Windmax is Rudy Project’s all-time bestselling helmet and a staple among several of these pro teams. On the other hand, the Sterling was designed with the help of a leading Italian hat manufacture and is easily the most comfortable helmet produced by Rudy Project. Both feature the RSR8 retention system which allows for quick, one-handed adjustment while riding, and come with included visors, extra padding and bug nets to keep insects at bay.
