Jelly Belly takes to races far and wide…
…In races from Canada to Georgia, Jelly Belly p/b Kenda riders rode their bicycles in top form last weekend.
At the Glencoe Grand Prix in Illinois, first-year Jelly Belly rider Ken Hanson made the podium in third place. Teammates Brad Huff and Jeremy Powers finished close behind in fourth and 10th place, respectively.
To top it off, Hanson earned the KOM jersey and Huff won the sprinter’s jersey.
At the Manhattan Beach Grand Prix in California, another NRC race, Sean Mazich placed 22nd.
Jelly Belly’s first-year pro Carson Miller came in 41st at the Under-23 National Championships in Augusta, Ga. And Nic Hamilton, racing in his home country, took 12th place at the Canadian National Time Trial Championships and 13th in the road race.
It was the first time Jelly Belly p/b Kenda had riders at four different events on the same weekend.
“It just shows how important these events are to our sponsors and fans,” said team director Danny Van Haute.
The riders’ success, he added, is the culmination of many months of training and working together.
“For the first three months of this season the riders were a little off in their chemistry to ride as a team. But with seven new riders this year, it was just a matter of time when they would start to jell,” Van Haute said. “This now has been happening for the last month, and you can see this in our results.
I’m confident it will continue for the rest of the season.”
