Rudy Project and GODSPEED: The Race Across America Coming to Over 650 US Cinemas on May 22

Rudy Project North America, exclusive distributors of Italian-made endurance sports gear, has partnered with the documentary ‘GODSPEED: The Race Across America’ to bring the inspiring story of two cyclists and their team Enduring Hope into more than 650 select movie theaters for one special night on Tuesday, May 22, at 7:00 pm local time.

The documentary chronicles the harrowing journey of ultra-cyclist/sportscaster Jerry Schemmel, who joins forces with IRONMAN© triathlete/CEO Brad Cooper, in the world's most grueling endurance bicycle race – The Race Across America (RAAM). The duo battle opponents, extreme terrain and weather, inner demons and occasionally each other, to reach both their dreams and be transformed by the experience, all while wearing Rudy Project’s award-winning eyewear and helmets.

“RAAM is a grueling experience, and not to be attempted by the faint of heart,” said Paul Craig, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Rudy Project North America. “It’s gripping to watch these two guys go through some of the most extreme terrain in the US, while racing other teams and constantly pushing themselves to the limit. The “GODSPEED” event gives audiences nationwide a firsthand account of what it is like to face inner and external challenges, while testing the limits of friendship on this grueling trek across the country. As the documentary goes behind the scenes with the first-time race team of Cooper and Schemmel, through alternating shifts or pulls, the duo will attempt to pedal 168 hours non-stop from Oceanside, California, to the finish line in Annapolis, Maryland, raising money for the orphans of Haiti. All the while they depend on the protection and aerodynamic comfort of Rudy Project helmets and sunglasses. The race is infamous for challenging racers to their absolute limit; only about half of the contestants finish the 3000 mile route from Oceanside, CA, to Annapolis, MD every year.
