Here at Rudy Project, we take pride in the accomplishments of all our athletes, from all backgrounds and at all ability levels. Each month we will showcase one of our “BRO” athletes who is an amateur competitor doing amazing things on and off the race course. Learn about this month’s star, Brad Smith, below:
“I suffered a spinal cord injury on June 1st, 2010. I was riding my bicycle and a car pulled out in front of me. I was a runner, cyclist, and triathlete before my injury. Afterward, I wanted to continue to be an athlete. My wife and I started the Atlanta Triathlon Club – Paratriathlon Program to provide individuals with disabilities an opportunity to participate in triathlon.”
Brad used his injury as motivation and most recently, he took 1st Place in the Wheelchair Division at the USA Triathlon Southeast Regional Paratriathlon Championship in Columbus, GA! We are proud to support Brad in his own competitive efforts, as well as the mark he’s making in the paratriathlon community.
In honor of the incredible performances by American athletes in Rio, we wanted to highlight the Ekynox with USA flair! If you like this style, we still offer the Ekynox SX, which has the same great design with little bit smaller lenses!
